Copywriter
Katherine copywrites a host of communication material such as newsletters, brochures, press releases and web sites, specialising in the housing sector. She works with a wide range of clients including several housing associations, producing both staff and tenant publications. "It’s important to ensure that every word counts," she says.
"Word Association is based on trust. You work to high standards and meet tight deadlines but can decide for yourself the hours to work which best suit your lifestyle. This means that staff morale always remains high."
Career Summary: Katherine has 10 years’ copywriting and PR experience and holds a CAM Diploma in Public Relations. She was Publications Manager with a Warwickshire PR & marketing consultancy before becoming Account Manager in the Consumer Division, where she was responsible for a wide range of consumer and business to business clients. She then became freelance, copywriting various community newspapers and supporting regeneration initiatives. She spends her spare time playing badminton and running.
Communication changed my life when … I went on a school art trip to the National Gallery and Monet’s waterlilly paintings were overwhelming. The trip inspired me to study history of art which led me into writing art critiques and, subsequently, into taking up copywriting as a career.
