Word Association PR and Account Director Michelle Pearson joined a team representing one of our clients to complete Walsall’s first ever Race for Life in support of Cancer Research UK.
Michelle joined a team made up of female staff from Beechdale Community Housing – a Word Association client based in Walsall – who raised a total of around £1,600 for the charity.
Despite the sweltering heat during the event on Sunday 26th June, Michelle and the rest of the 10-strong team managed to complete the 5km course at Walsall Arboretum in good time.
Michelle said: “We all know somebody who has suffered from cancer and we felt we should take some action to make a difference. It is a fantastic event for a worthwhile cause and we were all proud to take part. Thanks so much to everyone who gave us their support!”
Race for Life has become the UK’s largest women-only fundraising event. Since it began in 1994 over two million women of all ages have run, walked or jogged in the 5km events and raised over £140 million in sponsorship for the charity.
