School appoints leading PR firm ahead of re-launch

Marketing
Top PR firm Word Association has been appointed to help manage the re-launch of a Leicestershire school.

The Leicestershire-based communications agency is working with Burleigh College and neighbouring Garendon High, in Loughborough, ahead of the schools' merger this summer.

They are joining forces to become Thorpe Hill Campus, an all-through school which will teach pupils aged from 11 to 19.

Word Association is heading up the new school's communications strategy, PR, rebranding and the launch event. The aim is to raise the school's profile, publicise its achievements and attract more students.

Mark Thomas, Chief Executive of Word Association, said: "We are delighted to be working with Thorpe Hill at such an exciting, transitional time for staff and students.

"The merger will herald a new era, bringing new challenges and opportunities, and we are proud to be playing our part in such an important milestone for the schools."

Merging the two schools aims to raise educational standards, improve pupil care and support, pool resources and give youngsters a seamless education without having to change schools at the age of 14.

Word Association, which celebrates its 21st anniversary this year, has worked with a wide variety of clients in the public, private and charity sectors, including housing, education and health.

PR Week ranked Word Association as the top PR agency in the East Midlands and one of the national top 10 agencies specialising in the public sector.
