With the TSA local offers deadline less than two months away, we are reminding housing providers that they don’t have long to inform tenants about their offers.
Local offers are a way for social housing providers to tailor their services, based on what their tenants want. The TSA requires all providers to ask tenants if they want local offers against its national standards. For example, how they consult tenants, manage neighbourhoods or estates, or run the repairs service – each could be the basis for a local offer.
Word Association Chief Executive Mark Thomas said: “As an essential part of the TSA requirements local offers must be in force by 1 April 2011 and tenants need to be informed about them. With little time left before the deadline, Word Association is the place to turn to get the message out to tenants in a quick and cost-effective way.”
In 2010, we produced 20 annual reports for housing association clients and won a prestigious award from the Midlands Network for Resident Involvement for innovative design and strong resident involvement. More than 300 people have requested a copy of our Annual Report to Tenants Toolkit.
Mark has been invited to host workshops on producing tenant annual reports for the Centre for Housing and Support in London on March 29th and Manchester on April 5th. He will also host a workshop on Communications and Marketing for the National Housing Federation (NHF) at Hotel Russell, London, on March 10th. Other speakers at the NHF event will include former Mayor of London Ken Livingstone and former Liberal Democrat MP, Lembit Opik.
