Innovative report scoops award
Client: Optima Community Association
Project: Annual report for residents
Background
Birmingham-based housing association Optima owns and manages over 2,000 homes on estates which have been transformed in recent years by a major regeneration programme.
Objective
Following new requirements by the Tenant Services Authority, housing providers such as Optima needed to start producing annual reports specifically for, and involving, residents.
Our role
Word Association worked with Optima and its tenants to establish exactly what they wanted to say and achieve with the report. Our team came up with a range of designs to choose from, then designed, artworked and produced the final result - a two-booklet report in a colourful, eye-catching folder. The music-inspired document features a collage of tenants’ photos on the cover, in the style of The Beatles’ iconic Sgt Pepper album, reflecting the vibrant, multi-cultural community Optima represents.
Results
This report won the first Annual Report to Residents Award from the Midlands Network for Resident Involvement. Judges praised its striking, vibrant design, easy-to-read style and strong emphasis on resident engagement.
