We're Investors in People

Word Association was first awarded the UK Government's Investors in People standard in 2000. Since then the company has been re-assessed and retained its accreditation.

Being an Investor in People shows that we are committed to growing our business through our employees. That means we are serious about providing the training and development people need to do their jobs effectively. We also set clear objectives for everyone, review their performance regularly and involve them in the planning process.

Last time we were judged against the Investors in People standard, the independent assessor reported:

"Within this company, formal structures continue to be strongly supported by the informal close working relationships of all employees. Through the weekly and monthly production team meetings, one-to-one meetings with managers, performance reviews and constant discussion with each other, they are well aware of the company's priorities and how they contribute to Word Association's ongoing success."

The report also said: "Throughout the last year Word Association has used the Investors in People initial report as the basis for enhancing its business practices including people development. Continuous improvement has resulted in enhanced management and technology competency. The people interviewed stated that they are now 'much more focused' and aware of how they can help achieve individual and business objectives."
