REGENERATING COMMUNITIES

Give a neighbourhood a bad name and it sticks. Just building new housing or improving the environment won’t necessarily change the reputation of an area. It needs careful managing by experts like the regeneration team at Word Association.

Transforming Walsall

We’ve recently been working with Walsall Housing Group (whg) to encourage developers and funders to buy into the high profile Strategic Regeneration Framework for Walsall. We designed a striking folder and 10 innovative inserts focusing on the planned regeneration projects for the area.

“We’ve spent two years working with the Council and other partners on the plans for the transformation of Walsall. We wanted a brochure to reflect this. Word Association’s creative ideas for the brochure were brilliant and they were able to hit a very tight deadline for its delivery”, said whg's director of regeneration and development Carole Wildman.

At Word Association our strength lies in working with staff, residents and community groups to change people’s perceptions about communities through a variety of marketing measures.

WEBSITE OFFERS SOLUTIONS

Log on to our re-vamped website and you’ll find it more informative, brighter and, well, noisier.

The home page includes some music composed by our creative director Jason Penn.

More importantly, the site has information about all our ten services, the sectors we work in and more than 20 case studies showing how our work really makes a difference to people’s lives.

There’s also a new section looking at campaigns aimed at improving work-life balance, estate reputations, audit inspection results, launching new initiatives etc.

We hope you’ll find it useful and entertaining. Let us know what you think.

TELECONFERENCES GET GOING

A brand new telephone conference programme is being launched this October to help tenants and residents gain the skills they need to tackle some of the key issues which face communities.

Up to 10 people can take part and are linked with a lead speaker who has an in-depth knowledge on the topic and gets the discussion going.

The cost of each teleconference is £40 per person. Future subjects include ‘Involving Young People’ on 10th October and ‘Producing Community Newsletters’ on 16th October.

All you need is a telephone so participants can join in anywhere in the UK – at home or from an office. Find out more or book places for your tenants or local residents.

NEWS IN BRIEF

  • IN YOUR OWN WORDS
We’re committed to giving clients a first class service every time, which is why it’s so rewarding when we gain feedback which endorses this. Christine Kerr, Chief Executive of Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council, recently wrote about our Quarterly Contact tenants’ newsletter: “I have just read the most recent edition and been very impressed with the content and style. I particularly liked the facts and figures in the middle with the little stories from residents to give the human interest angle.  Would you please pass on my congratulations to the editorial team. They do an excellent job.”
  • CHARITY CASH
A big thank you to all clients who have filled in one of our regular customer surveys to let us know whether we’re providing a service which fully meets your needs and expectations. For every one filled in we donate £1 to charity. As a result, we’ve now been able to donate £200 to the British Lung Foundation, Cancer Research and Homeless International. As well as helping these charities you are also helping us. All your feedback is discussed by the team and used to further improve our services. Our surveys can be completed online.
  • Jack's pictureJack's pictureBONNIE BABIES!
