SUCCESS COME
RAIN OR SHINE!

Positive comments have been flooding in from sheltered housing scheme managers UK-wide who attended the Jephson Housing Association Group Sheltered Housing Away Day organised by Word Association in November.

Word Association selected the prestigious Ardencote Manor Hotel near Warwick as the venue and arranged all the logistics of the Away Day from start to finish.

"This was the second event of its kind which we’ve staged for Jephson," explained Media Relations & Marketing Assistant, Amy Liddington. "The managers all work in their own sheltered housing schemes around the country and have very little contact with others. The client wanted to provide an opportunity for them to meet up, share ideas and learn the latest on policies, practices and procedures.

"We planned the day, contacted delegates, produced delegate packs, organised accommodation, answered queries and delivered a successful Away Day to meet our client’s needs."

It was particularly important that Jephson’s Chief Executive, Bob Strachan, joined in the event and discussed key issues with the scheme managers such as elder abuse and the Supporting People review process.

Word Association even produced branded umbrellas for the delegates to ensure that nothing could dampen the day!

If you would like to be added to the mailing list for future editions, email us your details and we’ll pass them to the Housing Corporation.

NEWS IN BRIEF

  • CHRISTMAS GOODWILL

As Word Association customers know, we make a charity donation for every completed customer satisfaction survey we receive. Now we’ve decided that instead of sending out Christmas cards, we’ll donate £250 to a charity working in a housing related field each year. To mark the opening of our new office in the South West, this year’s inaugural donation will be made to Julian House in Bath. Since 1993, it has run a nightshelter and day centre for homeless people in the City and links them into a range of other support services.

  • SPEAKING OUT!

Word Association has been invited to speak at the Chartered Institute of Housing’s Key Worker seminars in London (11th January) and Norwich (18th January). We’ll be presenting ideas and thoughts on the effective branding and marketing of Key Worker schemes. Go to www.cih.org/training/semkey.htm for more information.
We’ll also be exhibiting at the CIH Southern Housing Management Conference in Bournemouth on 25th and 26th January. Come and see us there!
