Project: Media relations

Background: The TALL Group is made up of Checkprint Ltd in Hinckley, Leicestershire and TALL Security Print Ltd in Runcorn, Cheshire. It is one of the country’s leading printers of special cheques and credits, working for many of the UK’s largest banks, building societies and financial institutions. The company has also developed a range of software and hardware packages designed to help other businesses with their security printing needs.

Objective: To raise the profile of the company and promote its range of services.

Our role: Having worked closely with The TALL Group to identify its objectives, Word Association developed an innovative media relations programme, focusing on local media outlets, the business press and key trade press such as Print Week and Printing World.

Results: Word Association’s team of trained journalists and PR consultants has been responsible for generating editorial coverage amounting to more than £100,000 since starting work on the account late in 2000. The team’s excellent knowledge of the media led to a total of almost £30,000 worth of coverage being achieved in 2004 alone, including a high profile feature in Print Week. The media relations campaign is monitored on an ongoing basis and new opportunities for coverage are continually identified.
