Word Association – where communication changes lives
Grant applications increased
Client: THE HOUSING CORPORATION
Project: An integrated programme to promote Community Training & Enabling grants
Background: CTE grants are offered by the Housing Corporation to support community-focused housing projects.
Objective: To encourage more projects to apply for CTE grants by raising awareness, providing advice and promoting successful CTE funded projects.
Our role: Word Association organised and promoted nine workshop events at unusual venues around the country during a six month period. Participants were attracted from a wide range of housing associations and community groups. "There was a lack of understanding about the grants and the application process," said Word Association Chief Executive, Mark Thomas. "We found a format for the events which was informal as well as informative, motivating people to develop their ideas and submit applications." A regular newsletter was also produced for potential grant applicants and a news service and case studies developed for the website, which was designed and managed by the Quest Trust.
Results: Each workshop achieved a very high satisfaction level from participants. Interest in the CTE grant scheme increased substantially UK-wide, reflecting the high profile communications and support programme.
