A new image for a new school
Client: Charnwood College
Project: Create a brand for a new college
We designed and created every aspect of the new identity and image of a Leicestershire college formed by bringing together two existing schools.
The first college in Leicestershire to be formed by bringing together two existing schools to provide all-through 11-19 education asked us to create their brand from scratch. It didn’t even have a name.
We held focus group meetings with staff, parents and students to establish the school’s attractions, reputation and aspirations, before coming up with the name of ‘Charnwood College’.
Our design team also created a new logo and new-look school uniform, including designing different house ties. We also produced a new website, a prospectus, marketing materials, new signs for the campus and a promotional video.
Mark Sutton, Principal of Charnwood College, said: “I would wholeheartedly recommend Word Association – they have played an invaluable role in our schools’ journey into a new era.
“I have been extremely impressed by the team, their commitment and dedication, the quality of their work and their flexibility. As a result of their efforts, we have created a new image for the school, received fantastic media coverage, won a prestigious award and attracted global attention with a novel video which showcases what Charnwood has to offer.”
