Project: Communications handbook
We produced a user-friendly handbook for Newport City Homes, giving their staff invaluable guidance and advice on internal and customer communications.
Newport City Homes (NCH), a housing association in south Wales, asked us todesign and produce a handbook for staff giving guidance and advice on internal and customer communications.
The handbook gave advice on areas such as key messages, writing style, press and PR, photography, printing and social media. It also included easy-to-use templates for communications such as letters, memos and feedback forms.
We produced the handbook and its example templates as interactive pdfs, in a format which could be downloaded by NCH staff from their intranet system.
It was in keeping with NCH’s new brand guidelines, with each section colour-coded and laid out in such a way as to break up the copy into bite-sized chunks.
NCH has promoted this invaluable, user-friendly handbook through a series of lunch-time learning sessions for staff. It has received positive feedback and achieved its objective of ensuring consistency in their communications.
