Securing TV coverage for local college
Client: Charnwood College
Project: TV coverage for college activities
We’ve raised the profile of a new Leicestershire college, by securing valuable regional TV coverage for a range of their activities.
Our contacts in the regional TV media have helped us secure valuable BBC TV for Charnwood College - the first in Leicestershire to be formed by bringing together two existing schools, to provide all-through 11-19 education.
An innovative ‘lipdub’ video, which we planned and created to promote the college, was the first to catch the attention of the BBC. Midlands Today ran a feature on the promotional video, which featured hundreds of students and staff on a journey through the school site.
The BBC returned to film at the college after we marketed a special event where students were helped to prepare for job interviews. Like the ‘lipdub’ video, it appeared on a regional TV news programme.
We secured the college further coverage on BBC’s Midlands Today when we persuaded them to interview its students on the day of their ‘A’ Level results.
Charnwood College’s regular appearance on BBC regional news programmes has undoubtedly helped raise its profile.
Mark Sutton, Principal of Charnwood College, said: “I would wholeheartedly recommend Word Association – they have played an invaluable role in our schools’ journey into a new era. I have been extremely impressed by the team, their commitment and dedication, the quality of their work and their flexibility.”
