Award-winning PR campaign nets results
Project: To produce a commemorative publication to celebrate their 10th anniversary - which led to a targeted PR campaign
Midlands social landlord whg commissioned us to produce a commemorative publication to celebrate their 10th anniversary.
In response, we devised, designed, wrote and produced ‘The Home That Jack Built’. This nostalgic book focuses on Jack Haddock, one of their longest standing customers, featuring his memories and old photos alongside the history of the area’s social housing and whg’s achievements.
We also ran a targeted PR campaign around the launch of the book, successfully raising the organisation’s profile and promoting whg as a national spokesperson on housing issues.
As a result, the book won the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Excellence Awards 2014 for Best External Publication.
Tracy Ironmonger, Communications Manager at whg, said: “Through clever copywriting, Word were able to bring one man’s story to life and give real meaning to the way in which our work affects the lives of our customers. This, coupled with an inventive PR campaign, meant that Jack’s story captured the imagination of a much wider audience than we had anticipated, raising our organisational profile within the housing sector and beyond.”
