Publications services include designing and producing guides for prospective residents and their relatives, brochures about individual schemes, presentation packs for events, annual reviews and informative newsletters for residents.

Conferences, open days and events can be organised from start to finish and Word Association will run seminars for organisations looking to plan their own events, on issues such as ‘how to organise a scheme managers’ away day’.

The First A3 Colour PosterA wide range of communications training and advice is also available, covering areas including creating a communications strategy, writing press releases, handling the media and producing resident newsletters.

We have also worked with the Centre for Sheltered Housing Studies (CSHS) to jointly organise a conference on one of the more pressing issues facing the sector – hard-to-let sheltered housing. The conference looked at the range of solutions available including focused marketing, remodelling schemes, new lettings criteria etc.

Word Association chief executive Mark Thomas, who has also run training courses for the CSHS was one of the speakers at the conference. You can download Mark’s presentation and a useful report on the whole issue of hard-to-let housing.
